West Yellowstone Montana

July 7,  2013

We  arrived at West Yellowstone Montana on July 7th.   We chose this location because it was right outside the West entrance to Yellowstone National Park.  We had also heard Grizzly RV Park was a nice location for us to stay with our RV.   The little town of West Yellowstone has maintained its quaint feel by keeping the public buildings in historic log style buildings. Store fronts are all  "Wild West" style.

There  are several hotels  even one that is all log cabins.  The town is small enough I was able to walk everywhere from the RV Park.  Georgia and I managed a couple of walks to town for Huckleberry icecream:)   To  travel  into Yellowstone National Park it is a good 14 plus miles to the first attraction inside the West Entrance. So you will need to drive or take a tour bus into the National Park.

We had some crazy weather, beautiful sunny days then in the late afternoon we had thunderstorms with hail.  Sitting inside a motorhome during a hail storm gives you an idea of what it sounds like inside a popcorn popper!  Following the afternoon storms, the sky would open up and let the sun shine through.  I captured one picture I thought looked like "Heaven looking in on us."

Hope you enjoy the pictures.
